Megan Anna Rapinoe was born on July 5 1985, in Redding California. She started playing soccer at a early age, and honed her abilities in her teens. After that, she went to her first University of Portland in Oregon together with her fraternal twin sister Rachael Rapinoe. Megan Rapinoe played for her University's women's soccer team, and was one of the top scorers among collegiate female soccer players across the United States. Her knee injury, however she was forced to miss a part of both her sophomore and Junior seasons. In her senior year, she returned to full-time soccer, and started every game during the season. She earned a bachelor of science degree in sociology from the University of Portland, graduating in the year 2008. Rapinoe's SOCCER CARRIER Rapinoe joined the Chicago Illinois Red Stars team of the new Women's Professional Soccer WPS in 2009. The team was in existence until it disbanded at the close of the 2010. Rapinoe relocating to Boca Raton Florida after spending just a couple of weeks playing for Philadelphia Pennsylvania Independence. The magicJack was third that year after Rapinoe's two goals. The magicJack ended up disbanding in late 2011 and WPS fell apart in the early months of 2012. Rapinoe began participating in the Australian W-League with Sydney Football Club FC after which she returned in America. United States. It was the Seattle Washington Sounders Women, which is now Sound FC, were her the next team. She played the 2013 soccer season in France. She was then a part of in the Seattle Reign FC now OL Reign of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL which had formed after the WPS broke up. Rapinoe was one of the league's top scorers, and she was later promoted to captain. She was a part of the U.S. Olympic female soccer team, which played at London England. Rapinoe led the United States Olympic Women's Soccer Team to gold in London, England. Rapinoe scored several game-winning goals or assists. In 2016, she competed in her 2nd Olympics at Rio de Janeiro Brazil. The U.S. was knocked out of the quarterfinals in Rio. Rapinoe's debut in the FIFA Women's World Cup took place in the year 2011. In 2015 and 2019, her efforts have assisted the U.S. Women's World Cup winning team achieve consecutive championships. In 2018, she was cocaptain for the U.S. national team. Rapinoe won two bronze medals at her part in the United States' 4-3 win against Australia at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Japan has been postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 spread.
